Oxford United Women look to bounce back on Sunday when they travel to QPR in the National League. Liam Gilbert’s young side were a little unlucky to lose their opener at Chichester but midfielder Georgia Timms says the team is determined to get a win against Rangers.
“It was a very challenging game last weekend “ she told iFollow “I think we should have won because we did almost everything right, but decisions didn’t quite go our way. We have a very young squad but we know we have a lot of talented players and we know we will do well.
“It was disappointing not to get a spot in WSL but this year we want to push harder and try and aim for that top three. We certainly believe we have the players to do it.
“We try and play good football and we want to get that first win out of the way. QPR lost their first game as well so we will go there and try our best. Then there’s a bit of a break before we play our first home game, which we are really looking forward to and which we hope the Oxford fans come along and get behind us for.”
