North Oxfordshire Regional Talent Centre Talent ID Night Success

Last night was the first of the Oxford United Academy Talent ID Evening hosted by North Oxfordshire Regional Talent Centre.

The aim of the centre is to provide players in the North of the county and along the M40 corridor with an additional training opportunity and pathway to the academy whilst also investing in players off the pitch in terms of qualifications and personal development.

Over 50 players attended the first session which was led by Gareth Hamer of the Junior Premier League and assisted by two of the current U23s, Albie Hopkins and Aaron Heap.

Also in attendance were Dan Harris, Academy Manager and Kieran Hayes, Head of Recruitment as well as a number of coaches and players from the academy.

Gareth Hamer commented on the evening

“It is great to be able to provide players a pathway to the academy, as well as coaching opportunities for the young professionals at Oxford Untied. Having the clubs players attend and coach was brilliant, the players warmed to them quickly and were superb role models”

Kieran Hayes said “It was a really positive first session at a great facility at Whitelands Farm, Bicester. The players all did really well and we are excited for the future potential of the programme. It’s a positive step forward for the club to be able to engage with players in that age bracket in the north of the county.”

The next Talent ID Evening is on August 9th from 6-9pm. If you would like to register please contact Gareth Hamer on 07496 150452 or email northoxfordshirertc@junior-premier.co.uk
