Oxford United midfielder Jamie Hanson will miss the next three league games through suspension.
Hanson was shown a straight red card at Newport on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup but the club supplied video evidence to support an appeal against that card.
Unfortunately the appeal was unsuccessful and so the former Derby player must miss the game at Sunderland on Saturday as well as the home game against Coventry City and the trip to Wycombe Wanderers.
