Fleetwood boss Uwe Rosler knows his side are in for a tough test against a United side unbeaten in five games.
“Oxford are in a good position to push on,” he told the official Fleetwood website.
“I know they won’t just come here to try and deny us, we know they are consistent whether they are playing at home or away and they believe in their methods.
“They play good football to watch, it's effective football with great players across the pitch.
“They’ve brought in Premier League players, Championship players and players I have worked with [Alex Mowatt]. Pep Clotet is a good manager and his team will be a force to reckoned with this season.
“I believe the longer the season goes on, Oxford will get better and better.”
Rosler has former United frontman Conor McAleny available again after injury.
“He started off with 15 minutes, then 45 minutes, now 60-plus minutes" Rosler said. "That is how you bring a player back and we are still training him because that is what he needs. You hope he will get better and better.
“The boy is determined. He should not put himself under too much pressure. We know he is a very good person and a very good player.
“The goals will come and he just needs to give solid performances and build a good platform to push on again.”
