New partners take centre stage this evening
Fans coming along to tonight’s game against Bolton Wanderers or watching on TV will see Oxford United’s newest partners proudly on display.
Planet IT was born in 2003 when two school friends from Oxford , Gavin Jones and Sean Smith, wanted to offer a better IT service to customers.
The business now employs 35 members of staff and leads the field in IT solutions, in Oxfordshire and across the UK.
Planet IT are now United's official IT partners and sponsors of the North Stand's segregation netting.
Based in Harwell, Oxfordshire, Planet IT offers support & IT solutions to local business as well as national organisations . The objective is being the most nimble and informative IT solutions provider in the UK.
Planet IT Director Gavin Jones told us:
“Sean and I both grew up in Blackbird Leys and are local lads who are proud to support our local team.
"We have always wanted to give something back and support the club, commercially and are pleased to now be in a position to do so."
Planet IT Director Sean Smith added:
"As a business we are always looking at ways to get ourselves noticed and the segregation netting is such a visible area every match day that it seemed a great way to form our partnership with the U’s.
“We are an enthusiastic, ambitious company who share many of the club’s values in helping the local community while striving for success and we look forward to working with the club in the future.”
Oxford United Managing Director Greig Box Turnbull, said:
“This a significant new three year partnership for the football club and we are delighted to welcome Planet IT on board.
"It is another example of how we have developed the commercial side of United, by sourcing new avenues of sponsorship and ensuring we are flexible in our approach to creating a package that works for both the sponsor and the club.
"Planet IT are launching at a great time, getting their name out there on SKY TV tonight at one of the biggest games of the season.
“Their expertise in all areas of IT is second to none and I am sure that they will be a great asset to the club and our commercial partners and the partnership will flourish."
