Ashby Out For Six Months

Young midfielder out for rest of season

Young midfielder Josh Ashby will miss the rest of the season after damaging knee ligaments and fracturing his kneecap during Wednesday night’s Oxfordshire Senior Cup game at Kidlington.

Josh was helped off the pitch after 17 minutes and had a scan yesterday which showed the extent of the damage and he will now see a specialist  before beginning his recovery. He is expected to be out of action for up to six months.

Josh, who has been on loan at Oxford City recently told us:

“I’m gutted, obviously. I hear a ‘pop’ in my knee and knew it wasn’t good straight away but now all I can do it see the specialist then work hard with the medical team to get over the injury and playing again as quickly as possible.”
