Midfielder Ivo Pekalski will see a specialist this week to assess a knee injury he suffered in training.
Ivo joined the U’s this week but was left in some discomfort when he landed awkwardly during a training session this week. The initial diagnosis is medial ligament damage which would mean the Swedish international would be out of action until the new year.
Pep Clotet told us:
“It is terrible luck for him and also for us because he is a good player, but now we will have to wait a little longer to see him in action.
“ It was just one of those things- no other player was near him; he just twisted and landed badly. It has settled down a little but we will have a further scan done and our excellent medical team can then work to get him back on the pitch and hopefully playing a part major role for us later in the season.
“He is part of the Oxford United family and we will look after him the right way.”
