Big Week for the U's

It’s a big week for Oxford United as we take on Cheltenham Town and Portsmouth at home.

First up comes the new Carabao Cup as we welcome the Robins on Tuesday night, then we have a massive first home league game against Portsmouth on Saturday. The away seats are already sold out and we want as many Oxford fans as possible to welcome Pep Clotet and his new-look United side.

“We would love a big crowd on Tuesday,” Pep told iFollow on Saturday. “It’s a new competition and we want to carry on from the win at Oldham. We want to see the same mentality and win again, but then on Saturday against Portsmouth we know it’s going to be a fantastic occasion and we want to see as many Oxford fans here as possible to cheer the team on.”

Be part of it on Saturday: book your place at www.oufctickets.co.uk or call 01865 337533 to get behind the U’s this week.

It follows an impressive season opener at Oldham:

“The attitude and work rate were there, the details that we put in for this game were there, and the players played their own game and controlled most of the game. I was happy to see a very good performance” Pep said. “Credit to the players who worked very hard all pre-season to be ready and to be a team. There are some things we want to do better but we ground out a result as a team and now we move on to two very important games.”
