Les Taylor looks ahead to Sunday's home game against Villa
Oxford United Women return to home action for the first time in two months this Sunday when they welcome Aston Villa to Northcourt Road.
Les Taylor’s side haven’t played at home since over 1,000 people came along on Family Fun Day to see them beat London Bees.
“It is good to be playing at home again after a two month break” Les told us. Our last home game was a fantastic afternoon for the whole club with the entire men’s first team squad and management here to support us. To have a crowd of over 1,000 people was such a boost to the players and I thought the day really showed the togetherness and spirit that runs right the way through Oxford United. We repaid that by the whole women’s squad watching the men’s side play at Sheffield United the other week.
“Unfortunately the fixtures left us without a game for a month or so and since we came back we have made long trips to Durham and Everton and come back with nothing to show for our efforts. In both games we have played pretty well against sides who have realistic chances of winning the league, but we have talked a lot about imposing our own game and not standing off teams and allowing them to gain momentum.
“It is important that we do that on Sunday against Villa, and if we do then hopefully we can get another three points on the board."
The game is at Northcourt Road, Abingdon, kick off 2pm and admission is just £5 for adults or £10 for Family Ticket (2 Adults & 2 Under 16s)
