Youngsters get a brand new area at Oxford United
Saturday’s opening game of the season saw the first opening of the brand new Olly’s Family Room.
This is a fantastic new area under the North Stand for all young United fans in the Family Stand. Outside, staff from the community department helped hundreds of young United fans try their hand at target shooting in the inflatable goal, while inside there were arts and crafts as fans made badges, kits and posters in the bright new art room.
There is also a ‘History’ room with a superb timeline of the club from Headington United to the current day. There is also an interactive room which features a backdrop and the chance to film videos and interview players before every game.
Managing Director Greig Box Turnbull said:
“It was a massive success on Saturday and I am sure will become a real hive of activity on a matchday for all the young fans. Having three specific rooms for youngsters to have fun before the game is a huge step forward and we’d like to thank everyone who made that possible including the volunteers, the staff who worked so hard, and specifically Tony Price who gave up time to paint the rooms and Buildbase who helped put the finishing touches.”
