Defender starts recovery after ankle injury
Defender Sam Long is remaining positive despite being ruled out for between ten and twelve weeks with ankle ligament damage which he suffered in last week’s Capital One Cup game at Sheffield Wednesday.
Sam spoke with Yellow Player earlier today, and said:
“It’s not great, obviously, but it could have been a lot worse. I went in for a challenge and got my studs caught in the pitch. My momentum took me forwards and I was lucky that I managed to get my studs free so the damage wasn’t that bad. It was painful but we got it looked at straight away and now I’ll work with Andrew Proctor and the medical team and come back in a few weeks fit and raring to go.
“I am off crutches already and it is feeling better with every day so we’ll just keep taking things day by day and hopefully I'll be back playing sooner rather than later.”
