Riva set for international tournament with England
The Oxford United Girls Centre of Excellence has had a great week. First came the news that the Centre had been recognised for its outstanding facilities and efforts, winning a trip for all players and staff to the Women's FA Cup final at Wembley in August.
Then came goalkeeper Demi Lambourne's call up for the England under 19 squad to play a double header against France.
And to cap off a fantastic week 16-year old defender Riva Casley has been called into the England Women’s U16 Team for the Women’s Nordic Tournament in Billund, Denmark.
The tournament runs from 29th June – 4th July and will allow Riva to build on her first three caps for the young lions, having played against Switzerland, Sweden and France earlier in the year.
"It's more really good news" said Richard Blackmore, general manager of the Centre of Excellence. "As well as the call ups we have been holding trials for new players in to the Centre of Excellence this week and seeing Demi and Riva get called up by England is a fantastic boost for everyone concerned."
