United winger starts for the Republic
United youngster Callum O'Dowda started for the Republic of Ireland under-21 side against England C in Galway yesterday afternoon.The winger played the first 71 minutes before being replaced by Dagenham's Jack Connors as Ireland went down 2-1 at Eamonn Deacy Park in difficult wet and windy conditions. The Irish youngsters were 2-0 down but ended the game strongly and were unlucky not to draw level.
Callum has also been named in the Republic of Ireland under-21 squad to face Gareth Southgate's England under-21s at St George's Park on Friday (3pm kick off).
