Alfie leaves the u's for pastures new
Alfie Potter has today left Oxford United by mutual consent.
Alfie, 26, has been with the U’s since 2009 when he joined initially on loan from Peterborough United. He will always be remembered for scoring the goal that clinched promotion back to the Football League at Wembley in 2010 but has found it hard to hold down a regular starting place this season.
United Head Coach Michael Appleton said:
“He’s a good lad and has ability but I believe everyone has a shelf–life at any football club and after talking at length with him we are in agreement that he needs a fresh challenge and he will hopefully tie up a deal at a new club later today. We thank him for his efforts at Oxford United and wish him well for the future.”
