Keeper agrees new deal with the U's
Oxford United Women are pleased to announce that goalkeeper Demi Lambourne has signed a new deal to keep her with the U’s for next season.
Demi has been with the club since she was 14 and over the last five years has established herself not only as Oxford’s number one but also in the England set-up with the under 19s.
Her achievements were recognised this month when she was presented with the prestigious Oxfordshire Sportswoman of the Year award.
Manager Les Taylor is delighted with the news.
“It’s great for everyone” he said. “Demi has been a pleasure to work with over the last five years and she works so hard at her game. She regularly trains with Wayne Brown and the men’s goalkeepers and that has helped her develop into a very fine goalkeeper. People forget that she is still only 19, so there is plenty more to come and happily that will be with Oxford United.”
Demi said
“I’m happy to have got everything sorted. I have thoroughly enjoyed myself at Oxford and am really looking forward to the new season. I’m doing some coaching with the youngsters and that is going well- there are some great players coming through at the club. We have a good young first team squad here and the challenge every season is to keep improving as a club and as a team. I can’t wait to be part of that once again.”
