Women Look To Match Men's Win over Notts County

U's v the Magpies Part Two

Oxford United Women look to emulate the men's team win as they welcome Notts County to Northcourt Road this evening. Season ticket holders and anyone with a ticket stub from last night's fantastic 3-1 win can enjoy tonight's game for FREE

Manager Les Taylor is looking forward to seeing a bumper crowd. He said: “I would like to think that as many fans as possible will want to take advantage of this and get behind the girls. Certainly a bigger crowd will really improve the atmosphere and that just spurs the players on even more. We've had over 400 at our last couple of games and I think we do better when there are more people watching.”

It's the second time in a matter of days that United have faced higher-league opposition, following Sunday's trip to Birmingham City in the same competition. And although such matches are always tough, Les feels the players are again looking forward to the chance to face top quality opposition.

“It represents a great chance for us to test ourselves against a side that only a few weeks ago was playing at Wembley in front of over 30,000 fans in the FA Cup Final,” he added.

“From a player's point of view you always want to put yourself up against the best opposition and really test yourself. They've obviously got two or three players who represented England at the World Cup and I know that every one of our players is looking forward to it.”

To gain free entry to the match, just present your season ticket or ticket stub from last night's game at the turnstile at Nortchourt Road. Alternatively, tickets can still be purchased online or at the gate, priced at just £5 for adults, £2 for under 16s and over 65s or £10 for a family ticket (two adults, plus two under 16s).
