United's youth team beat Bristol Rovers 2-0
On Saturday, United's under-18s went to Bristol Rovers and came back with all three points courtesy of a 2-0 win. Goals from Seth Humphries and a triallist striker earned Oxford the win in a game that they dominated, as coach Leon Blackmore-Such told us:"United started brightly and went 1-0 up and we controlled most of the game and the boys did really well. AJ George and Seth teamed up well in the midfield and we defended well, with Alfie Grant and Rob Cundy very solid in the first half, meaning Jack Stevens didn't have a lot to do in goal.
"We created quite a lot of chances and should have scored more goals. The link up play was excellent and Freddie Grant played really, really well, getting forward and getting crosses in.
"United opened the scoring when the triallist striker picked up the ball and fed it round the corner to Muctaru Conte. Conte beat the Bristol right back and put a good cross into the box for the triallist, who had continued his run and he volleyed the ball into the net. For the second goal the ball came to Seth Humphries on the edge of the box, he shifted it past the defender and put it into the bottom corner."
