Come and join us for a great night of FA Youth Cup football
Oxford United’s young guns take on local rivals Swindon Town at the Kassam Stadium tonight in an FA Youth Cup tie to savour. Chris Allen’s under 18s overcame League One side Bristol City in the first round to earn the right to play the Robins on home turf.
With a third round tie away at Manchester City the prize there is plenty of incentive for both sides, as Chris told Yellow Player:
“It’s a game they are all looking forward to, As soon as the season starts the lads are all asking when the FA Youth Cup games are and after beating Bristol City it is fantastic to be allowed to play at the Kassam Stadium.
“The fans were great at Didcot in the last round, they got right behind us when we needed them. Hopefully those people will come and support us again and a few more will join them and can generate the same atmosphere.
“We have taken six points off Swindon in the league this season but that goes out of the window because it’s cup football. It will be a tight game because we know all about them and they know all about us. They play good football and so do we and because it’s Oxford v Swindon there should be that little added spice of a local derby.”
Come and get behind Chris and his team. Admission is just £5 for adults and £3 for under 18s and over 65s. Kick off is at 7.30pm.
