Your chance to meet the new men in charge at The U's
The new men in charge at Oxford United will be giving fans a chance to meet them, ask questions and discuss the coming season over the next few weeks.
Chairman Darryl Eales, Chief Executive Mark Ashton and Head Coach Michael Appleton are keen to talk to fans and will be joining BBC Oxford’s Jerome Sale for an hour long radio phone-in on Thursday 7th August . Fans can send in questions or call on the night to put their questions to the men at the top.
The Sky Bet League 2 season kicks off two days later on August 9th when United welcome Burton Albion to the Kassam Stadium. On that day Darryl and Mark will be in the newly named Manor Bar from 1.30pm to 2pm to talk with fans and answer questions once more.
Once the season kicks off they will be joined by Michael Appleton for a formal Fans Forum at the ground, to be held on Thursday 25th September. Admission will be free and the trio will be happy to answer question on all aspects of the football club and the start of the season.
Mark Ashton said:
“We have met a lot of fans already and been overwhelmed by the welcome they have given us. The aim is to give them something special at their club and we are looking forward to meeting them and talking with as many as possible. The radio phone-in is a good way to reach people all across Oxfordshire but we also want to meet fans face-to-face so the first game is a good opportunity to do that.
“Obviously Michael will be a little busy on that day so he will join us for a Fans Forum in the more traditional sense, which we want to hold once the season is under way and fans have seen the team in action a few times.”
