Oxford United's newest professional gets sponsorship from fans group
Oxford United’s newest professional is assured of the backing of The 12th Man Group after they announced that, following a donation to the club from a sponsor who wishes to remain anonymous, they will sponsor Josh Ashby’s away shirt.
Midfielder Josh, 17, signed his first professional contract last week and is the latest youngster to come through a reinvigorated Youth Development programme at the club.
The 12th Man is a venture led by fans of Oxford United to create a fund to boost the club’s playing budget. Through various fund raising initiatives, the 12th Man has already raised over £55,000.
Trevor Lambert of The 12th Man said:
“We are proud today to announce the sponsorship of Josh’s away shirt and look forward to seeing him progress through the ranks. Such investment in the youth system is vital if we are to continue progressing as we have under Ian Lenagan’s chairmanship.”
As part of their sponsorship package the 12th Man will receive Josh’s shirt at the end of the season and an invitation to the end of season presentations. The 12th Man will be selling raffle tickets for this fantastic prize in the 12th Man Bar for the next few games.
