Yellow Army On Tour

Fans to get behind the U's at Mansfield

Oxford United fans are being encouraged to attend the away game at Mansfield in great numbers as part of a Yellow Army drive to back the team in style on the road.

U's fans have designated our L2 encounter on November 16th as 'the Yellow Army On Tour - The Big Away Day.'

It is being backed by the club and to support the fantastic initiative Oxford United have dropped the £2 non-members fee for any fan who wishes to travel by a London Road Travel coach to the match. Coach tickets are £15 and are available until Monday November 11th.

The rallying call to Yellows fans to pull together for the match is aimed at creating an extra special atmosphere for a big away game. It forms part of the Yellow Army's ambition to improve the match-day experience and atmosphere this season, both home and away, by adding more colour and noise.

It is hoped United fans from all over the country will join together to attend the match and help create an atmosphere to be proud of. You can play your part by cheering the team on by taking a flag, scarf or something yellow, and making as much noise as possible.

The Yellow Army On Tour - The Big Away Day has been organised by a group of United fans, including Joe Nicholls, Shane Rolls, Matt Organ, Jimmy Leaf, Mark Sennett and Greig Box Turnbull.

Joe Nicholls, of the Yellow Army, said: "Mansfield is gearing up to be one of the big away games of the season and it will be extra special if we can all band together and really make it a day to remember.

"Portsmouth away this season was what it's all about. The away was packed and the singing was non-stop. It just goes to show what we can achieve as Oxford United fans when we go for it.

"We want to single out one big away game every season that we can all get involved in and really travel to in great numbers. Mansfield fitted the bill perfectly."

"The players often say that when they come out of the tunnel and see a sea of yellow and blue in the away end it gives them an extra lift - we really can make a difference," added United fan Shane Rolls.

"Our away form has been fantastic this season and if we can keep backing the team I'm sure they'll keep putting in the performances for us."

The match is all-ticket and tickets are on sale now. You can book yours by calling the Oxford United ticket office on 01865 337533 or via www.oufctickets.co.uk
