Players takes first steps back
United's players were back in the old routine today as pre-season began full time.
The first team squad reported to Roman Way for the first full session of the summer. Having already reported for tests and assessments over the weekend it was straight into things today as a double session put the players through their paces.
New faces Josh Shama, Danny Rose, Jon Meades and David Hunt all looked to have fitted straight into the set up on the first day of a carefully worked out schedule.
"Everybody was given a programme to keep to in the close season and they have come back looking really sharp" Strength and Conditioning Coach Alasdair Lane told www.oufc.co.uk. "They have shown a fantastic attitude and the whole squad were able to join in; there were no niggles left over from last season. That gives us a great base to work from and now the hard work really starts again over the next few weeks."
The players will be in Oxford for the next couple of days before a trip north for an intensive two days at an army camp. They will then return to Oxford at the weekend and start building towards the first pre-season game at Ardley United on Saturday July 6th.
