Striker talks to students about their trip to Africa
Striker James Constable was the centre of attention as he visited Bloxham School to talk to a group of sixth-formers who are planning their trip to Africa.
United's leading scorer for the last five seasons was part of a group which travelled to Kenya two summers ago to teach children in local schools, coach football and help build a school.
James and his team of Oxford United supporting volunteers found the whole trip "life-changing" and he was more than happy to visit Bloxham, give a talk about his experience and answer any questions that the students have about their forthcoming trip to Tanzania on a similar project. The students will visit Africa in July 2014 and talked with James about fund-raising, teaching and life away from home.
James told www.oufc.co.uk:
"The trip to Kenya was an experience that none of us will ever forget. It changed my life and it was an absolute pleasure to visit Bloxham and meet the students. They have a fantastic opportunity ahead of them and I really enjoyed talking to them."
Our thanks to the pupils and staff at Bloxham School for inviting James and for their hospitality.
