REPORT: U18s Knocked Out of FA Youth Cup

Oxford United's U18s were defeated in Watford last night as their FA Youth Cup campaign came to an early end.

The Hornets started on the front foot and opened the scoring 29 minutes in through some electric speed down the left-hand side from Nabizada. The half ended in a tense fashion, but the hosts took the lead into the break.

The U’s came out in the second half with a whole new energy and got the equaliser they were searching for from a Jack Lee penalty in the 57th minute. It didn’t take long for Watford to restore their lead as Odiase made it 2-1 just three minutes later. Chances came for both sides towards the backend of the game, however it was the hosts who advanced in the cup.

This was an unfortunate result for the young U’s as their FA Youth Cup run comes to an early end after a valiant effort from the boys.
