Oxford United's final pre-season fixture before the start of the real action sees them take on Italian Serie B side Palermo on Saturday 3rd August at 3pm.
The U's will still be buzzing from beating Premier League side Southampton 2-0 on Wednesday evening, while Palermo will also be full of confidence, having beaten Leicester City 1-0 in their last game. Palermo have been based in Manchester at the City Football Academy as part of their preparations for the new season, which starts with a visit to Parma in the Coppa Italia on Sunday 11th August.

With no new injury concerns following the Southampton game, Des Buckingham will wait on the fitness of Przemysław Płacheta and Owen Dale, as well as any potential new signings, before finalising his line up.

Littlemore roundabout will be closed on the day of the game. We urge all supporters to ensure they take extra time to get to the stadium if travelling by car, as delays will be expected.
THE OPPOSITION
Following play-off disappointment for the Rosanero last season, losing out to Venezia in the semi-finals, the side has appointed Alessio Dionisi as new head coach and has also been active in the transfer market as they prepare for another assault on the promotion places in their quest to return to Serie A. Whichever players Dionisi picks, you can guarantee a difficult game against a tough opponent.
