Oxford United Women are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Bethany-May Howard from Championship side Southampton.
Howard arrives with plenty of experience following her time at Southampton and a subsequent spell with Watford, again in the Championship.
The keeper has also had spells with Yeovil Town in the Women's Super League and spent four years in the United States playing for Rider University, where she was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year.
Howard now joins Sam Rose's side as preparations begin for the first game of the league season on Sunday 18th August.
Speaking after signing for the club, she said: "I'm absolutely thrilled to get the deal done and sign for Oxford United.
"This is a team that is pushing forward and you can see the direction of travel and that is something that I really wanted to be part of.
"I want to bring success to this team and I can't wait to get started with my new teammates."
Sam Rose, Women's Head Coach, said: "We’re delighted Beth has joined us. She brings with her a wealth of experience and leadership qualities that we hope will not only strengthen our defensive unit, but the squad as a whole.
"Beth is a strong shot-stopper and has a lot of the qualities that we have been looking for from a player in her position.
"With Beth joining us, and Paris Sercombe, we are really pleased with the strength and depth of the goalkeeper unit at the Club.”
