Oxford United are delighted to announce the signing of forward Tyler Burey on loan from Danish Super League team Odense until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.
Tyler, 22, completed his scholarship at AFC Wimbledon, playing in League One for them as a 17-year-old before a move to Millwall. He was the Lions’ Young Player of the Season in 2021/22, making over 50 appearances in total before moving to Denmark last summer.
Able to play on either flank, Burey joins the U’s as they prepare to resume their league campaign at Carlisle this Saturday.
“He is an exciting player to watch,” Head Coach Des Buckingham told oufc.co.uk. “He is quick, loves to take players on, and fills an important position within the squad. There were plenty of other clubs interested in him and we’re really pleased that he chose Oxford.”
Tyler said on joining the club:
“I like the way Oxford play and it will suit my game. The Gaffer explained where the club is at right now and where he wants to take it, and I want to play a role in that. They are in a great position in the league and there are some really good players here - I can’t wait to get started.”
Head of Recruitment Ed Waldron added:
“He is a player who has been on our radar for a couple of years at least and that continued in Denmark. He stretches the game with his pace and has good delivery so we hope he comes in, makes an instant impact and plays a part in a successful second half of the season.”
