Oxford United U19s drew 0-0 away to Exeter in the EFL Youth Alliance League on Saturday.
The U19s, with two U16s in Louis Griffiths and Jack Lee both starting, travelled south to Exeter City and came away with a point in a hard fought 0-0.
The U’s had chances to win the game, with the best chance falling to another U16 Leo Snowden who had come over from the U17s game to play the last 30 minutes with the Scholars.
Although they couldn’t find a breakthrough, the young yellows gave a good performance with lots to build on.
Coach Chris Hackett said
“It was a solid performance against a good Exeter side and we come away with a point on the road.
“The boys did well physically and socially but we just needed to be a bit more clinical when the chances came our way.
“There were positives to take from the game including a clean sheet and lots for the boys to build on individually and as a group.
