Oxford United’s under 19s lost with the last kick of the game as they went down 1-0 at Bristol Rovers on Saturday in the EFL Youth Alliance.
United conceded a last minute penalty and the next action was the final whistle, leaving the U’s frustrated as Coach Pablo Haysham told us:
“That’s a gutting way to lose a game, not even a chance to react at all. But we can’t complain because we didn’t quite do enough in the 90 minutes before that.
"It was a bit scrappy in the first half but we felt we were in control of much of the second 45 minutes, we just didn't quite do enough to score.
"But the big positive was Amari Davis-Stephenson making his comeback. He missed the whole of last season with a knee injury and has worked so hard to get back and be involved again. He came on for the last half hour and that was great to see.
"Hopefully he pushes on from here because he has done all that we asked and deserves a little bit of luck now.”
