Oxford United U18s will face Exeter City U18s at St James Park tonight in the Third Round of the FA Youth Cup. Kick off is at 7PM.
The winner of the tie will go on to face Crewe Alexandra or Cardiff City at home.
Midfielder Zaide Took-Oxley is looking forward to the trip
"The boys are ready to give it our all, everyone's up for it. Obviously, going down to Exeter is a long trek but we get the bonus of playing in a nice stadium so we are up for it and want to go as far as we can in the tournament."
"They'll be a good opposition and they have a strong team. Their formation can throw us a little bit but we are ready to adapt to it. The biggest aim is to get through so the only thing that matters is to get through."
Academy Manager Stevie Kinniburgh told us
“It’s going to be a tough away tie against a strong Exeter side, but we know that the boys are well up for it, especially after it was postponed last week. It’s also good socially for the squad to all travel down together and make it a bit of an event, so hopefully that side comes through too.”
“It would be great to get through and get another home tie as it adds that extra element for the squad, getting to play in front of Oxford fans in high pressure games, but first we have to focus on the task at hand and I know Chris Hackett and Pablo Haysham have prepared them really well.”
