Oxford United get a chance to put things right this week when they welcome Cambridge United to the Kassam Stadium on Saturday.
The U’s were beaten 1-0 at Derby on Saturday but as Boss Karl Robinson told iFollow afterwards, they matched one of the favourites for the title for almost the entire game:
“I thought our shape was very good and we looked very secure in the first half,” he said. “The one time we left someone on the edge of the box we got punished and a team like Derby will usually punish you if you do that. But take that out of the game and it was completely even.
“For 60 minutes we were excellent. We knew our wide players would tire because of the work we were asking them to do and we are still dancing around to bring on four or five more players to give us more flexibiity. The big thing now is to keep working hard and we know how aggressive we have to be in the next few weeks to make ourselves stronger.
“Our fans were excellent, but they never drop below that level and like them I leave here very frustrated but looking forward to the first home game next Saturday against Cambridge.”
