Oxford United Women are delighted to announce the signing of forward Rachel Panting from Southampton.
Rachel is a player United have been chasing for a while and further bolsters the attacking ranks at the club.
Panting, 30, will also bring experience to Liam Gilbert’s side having played in the Championship with Lewes and in the National League with Portsmouth.
Speaking about her move to the U’s Panting said: “Obviously a really good side with very good players.
“They were unfortunate not to get promoted last season and Liam is a good manager and I hope he and the players around me can progress me further.”
“In this league there is difficult games. There are games with one or two goals in it and I like to think I can step up in the big moments and get match winners.”
When asked how Panting would describe her game she said:
“I am very hard working, committed.
“I like to score goals and also create them, I’m someone who always tries to do the best for the badge they play for.”
The trip to AFC Wimbledon in the cup on Sunday is likely to come too soon for Panting’s debut. So fans will probably have to wait until United are back in league action on September 26th when they take on Bridgwater to see Panting in a yellow shirt for the first time.
