Oxford United Under 21s are back in action this afternoon when they welcome AFC Bournemouth’s Under 21s to the Oxford Sports Park.
The young U’s have been playing a series of friendly games in the second half of the season including West Bromwich Albion, Bristol Rovers and Luton Town and have been in good form, scoring four times in their last two games.
Those matches have also allowed players such as Luke McNally to get game time and progress on to the bench for the senior team- the young Irish defender has been an unused sub for the last two games after two impressive performances in recent friendlies.
Under 18s right-back Ben Watt was another to catch the eye and has been involved with the first team for the last two games while Leon Chambers-Parillon and Dylan Asonganyi have featured alongside the likes of Michael Elechi and Fabio Sole and second year scholars Callum Croook and Jack Gardner.
Tyler Goodrham, Fabio Lopes and forward Jack Stevens have all missed out so far with injuries but would love to be involved against the Cherries.
Report and reaction to follow later in the day.
