Ahmed Kashi’s red card at Shrewsbury yesterday will probably lead to a four game ban for the midfielder, which means two games being carried over until next season.
Kashi is on loan at the U’s from Troyes and was shown a straight red card for a foul during the first half of yesterday’s game. Having previously been sent off for two yellow cards at Walsall he now misses four games, which means he misses United’s remaining two games, at home to Doncaster Rovers and away at Luton Town plus the first two games of next season.
There was better news for United though with Simon Eastwood’s suspension now served. The keeper was shown a red card for handling outside the area in Good Friday’s win over Charlton, but this is deemed as ‘denying a goalscoring opportunity’ rather than dangerous play which carries a one game ban, which he served yesterday against Shrewsbury.
Boss Karl Robinson must now decide whether to recall Eastwood or give youngster Jack Stevens more chances to impress after coming on as a sub against Charlton and then making a full debut yesterday.
