Oxford United's eSports side won promotion at their first attempt, finishing second in the VPG League One South to ensure they will compete in the Championship South next season.
In addition, United's remarkable season was recognised with no fewer than five players selected for the VPG League One South Team of the Season.
Oxford scored nine goals in three different games, and also hit eight on two occasions as they scored 121 league goals. The side lost just twice in the league all season, both times to the eventual champions, Elite.
Director/Manager Damon Graham told us: "With five games to go we were one point ahead of Elite but they beat us 1-0 to go clear at the top. We won 3-0 in the following game and then won emphatically 9-1 in a game we dominated.
"In a second against third clash we went 1-0 up but were pegged back by a late goal to draw 1-1 with Red Birds. In the last game of the season we wanted to end on a high, which we did, beating Warriors Elite 5-1.
"We will be competing in Championship South next season against some tough opposition. Our Academy Manager, Gavin Buckett, has been working very hard and trialling Oxford fans. He has got 11 fans set up for his academy team which will be competing in the lowest tier next season with other academy sides such as QPR, etc. He will be holding further trials."
