Two more highly promising young players have been given a chance to shine at Oxford United. Michael Elechi and Rev James have both been given an opportunity after signing for the U's; Michael as a scholar and Rev for Chris Allen's under 23 side.
Dan Harris, head of the Academy, told us:
“Michael is a 16 year old left sided defender who has spent the last few years at Manchester United. He is from a tremendous family and has already shown himself to be a man of high character alongside his obvious footballing pedigree. Michael will join our U18s scholarship programme initially and we look forward to helping him develop over the coming years.
"Rev is an 18 year old explosive right winger who is a bit of a throw back. He likes to go on the outside of his full back and deliver balls into the box and combines this with a phenomenal work rate defensively. He has shown resilience fighting back from a leg break as a 1st year scholar and joins us on a short term deal initially dropping into Chrissy Allen’s U23s squad.”
"We’re delighted to welcome both Rev and Michael to the club".
