U's look to claim Oxon Senior Cup
Oxford United's young guns get a chance to show what they can do tonight as the U's take on Oxford City in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup final at the Kassam Stadium.Striker James Roberts, who spent time at City on loan earlier in the season, midfielder Josh Ashby, defender Freddie Grant, winger Jonny Giles and Young Player of the Year Robbie Cundy are all included in a squad that also sees the three scholars who were offered professional contracts involved tonight: goalkeeper Jack Stevens, defender Miles Welch-Hayes and striker George Jeacock.
Defender Canice Carroll is away with the Ireland under-18 squad but a number of other promising youngsters from the under 18s are in tonight's squad.
The last time the two clubs met in the final was in 2013 when the U's won 4-2 thanks to goals from Josh Ashby, Ty Marsh, JP Pittman and James Roberts. That is the last time the U's won the trophy, while City's last victory was back in 2003.
The game kicks off at 7.30pm and admission is £10 adults, £5 for over 65s and under 16s. Admission is via the south-west turnstiles and it is pay on the night.
