Shandon steps up after successful trial
Oxford United have added another exciting young player to their scholarship programme.
Shandon Baptiste is a 17-year-old midfielder who was previously with Reading. After impressing in the last three youth team games he has been offered a two year scholarship with the U’s.
Leon Blackmore-Such told us:
“He has done very well. We have had a chance to see him in training and in matches and he has fitted in with the scholars. There is plenty of hard work ahead of him but we are delighted that Shandon has agreed to join us".
Shandon is likely to be involved in a local derby on Saturday morning when the Under 18s take on Swindon Town away in the Football League Youth Alliance.
