UIB Quiz a Great Success

Quiz night a great success for United in Business

Last week saw the second annual United in Business Quiz at the Kassam Stadium.

Over 80 people took part in the aptly named the ‘Not in a Pub Quiz’, with Chairman Darryl Eales posing the questions. Questions covered a wide range of s subjects including Geography, General Knowledge, Places, Sport, Science, History, Music and Film.
If you couldn’t join us, here is a flavour of the questions the guests had to answer…
  • Name the two families in Romeo and Juliet.
  • What is the sum of the combined total of Charles’s, William’s and Henry’s that have been King of England?
  • Who was shot outside the Hilton Hotel in Washington in March 1981?
Teams represented all parts of the clubs with fan teams, commercial partners and staff teams including a Players Team of Robbie Cundy, Sam Humphreys, Johnny Giles, Josh Ashby and Jonty Castle. The Coaching Team of Derek Fazackerley, Andrew Proctor, Scott Daly, Liam McWhirter and Dan Bond fought hard but were outsmarted by Team Media who each won a voucher for a meal for two at the Shillingford Bridge Hotel and of course the bragging rights.

Team Media, representing the club’s communication team plus BBC Oxford and the Oxford Mail, racked up an impressive 78 points to take the title from fans team Chelsea Rejects on 70½ points and Two Good One Bad & One Ugly coming in with 70 points.
The night ended with the prize giving from Darryl Eales who said

“It was a fantastic evening and great to see fans, staff and players all mixing together.  These events are so important to the club and with the team playing some great stuff on the pitch at the moment we would love to see even more people getting involved, not just with UIB but with the community events we are putting together as well.”
