Charity match in Banbury for Children in Need
An Oxford United Legends XI will be in action at the Spencer Stadium, home of Banbury United, this Friday to take on a Kärcher UK XI for a charity game in aid of BBC Children in Need.The Legends squad includes Alan Foster, Ross Weatherstone, Mike Ford, Les Robinson, Rob Folland, Barry Quinn, Mattie McDonnell, Ben Abbey, Jamie Brookes, Phil Heath, and Leon Blachmore-Such; a line-up that has 1,000 United appearances between them. The game will be officiated by former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher.
To add a bit of competitiveness to the occasion, Kärcher's financial director Mark Venner has agreed to pledge £150 for each goal that Kärcher UK XI manage to score.
There is also a half-time raffle, with prizes including a Kärcher window vac, a meal for two at Nando's (Bicester), a signed Oxford United shirt, a family pass for the Oxford ice rink, and much, much more.
Kick-off is at 7.30pm on Friday, with gates opening to the public at 6.45pm. Tickets cost just £5 for adults, £2 for children and £3 for concessions, while raffle tickets are £2 each.
