Town v Gown

Join us tonight for a unique double header

There is a unique double header for United fans tonight as Town faces Gown at Iffley Road

First at 7pm the Oxford United Women’s side warms up for their debut season in the WSL with a match against the Oxford University Women’s side. Following that game the Oxford United Development side will play the Oxford University side.

This game will see the return to action for both goalkeeper Max Crocombe and midfielder Jon Meades after long term injuries. The pair will be joined by Matt Bevans, Sam Long, Josh Ashby, Aiden Hawtin, Sam Humphreys, Callum O’Dowda, Ty Marsh, Josh Shama, James Roberts, Greg Hackett, James Clarke and Josh Hill in a strong looking young squad. Kenzer Lee and Dave Lynn miss out through illness.

It is unique for Mickey Lewis as well. Mickey has coached the University side for many years  and told Yellow Player:

"It's the ultimate insider knowledge. I know exactly the line-up for both sides and, exactly what they are both going to do! I enjoy helping the University side and they are looking forward to it while it also gives our Development Squad another competitive good run-out."

Both games are an hour long and admission is just £3.

The Iffley Road Stadium is an iconic venue and the Town v Gown rivalry has run in the city for centuries. It promises to be a great evening of football so come along and join us from 7pm
