Raynes Ready to Return at Rovers? Oxford United v Bristol Rovers team news
United hope to have Michael Raynes and Ryan Williams back as they head for Bristol Rovers on Saturday in Sky Bet League 2.
Raynes has missed the last two games with a side injury but is responding well to treatment and could make a return to the squad while winger Williams returned to training today after a calf problem.
However winger Sean Rigg will miss a return to his first club, as Mickey Lewis told Yellow Player:
“Sean will miss out but we’re hopeful that both Michael and Ryan will be OK. They have been big players for us this season and with Dave Kitson available as well we are starting to get players back and have one or two extra options.”
Skipper Jake Wright is responding well to treatment on a deep cut to his knee and is likely to be available in two to three weeks while Alfie Potter and Jon Meades are back in light training after long term injuries.
Rovers are optimistic that the game will go ahead despite the weather. The pitch has been covered and will remain that way until close to kick-off but is playable under those covers.
Fans travelling as part of the Yellow Army should note that the game is ALL TICKET for away fans, available from 01865 337533 or www.oufctickets.co.uk and collectible either from the Kassam Stadium before 5pm on Friday or from a steward near the away entrance on Saturday from 2pm.
Hear Mickey’s thoughts ahead of the game in Yellow Player where we also have a full Preview Show featuring Ryan Clarke on facing his former team, Matt Bevans on his run in the side, and Josh Ashby on his first professional contract.
