Max Crocombe gets New Zealand Under-20 World Cup underway this weekend

The Under-20 World Cup kicks off this weekend in Turkey, with United’s Kiwi goalkeeper Max Crocombe among the stars of tomorrow hoping to feature in the tournament.

Max flew out to join the New Zealand side earlier this month and played 45 minutes in their final warm-up game against Egypt on Monday, a narrow 2-1 defeat.

The Junior All-Whites have been placed in Group F and kick off their campaign at 3:00pm (British time) on Sunday in Bursa against Uzbekistan.

They then face Uruguay on Wednesday 26th June and play their final group stage game on Saturday 29th June against Croatia, with both games being televised live on British Eurosport.

Max told oufc.co.uk: “It’s an exciting opportunity, the warm-up’s gone well and I'm looking forward to the competition.”
