Manager looks forward to tonight's big game
United get the chance to put things right this evening as they welcome AFC Wimbledon to the Kassam Stadium. Six straight defeats have rocked the U’s but Manager Chris Wilder and his players remain positive and will be looking for that elusive win after an improved performance against Rotherham at the weekend.
“We go again, that’s all we have to do and believe that the next game is the one we have to win” Chris told Yellow Player.” I saw good signs on Saturday and believe that we deserved something out of the game. Rotherham are a strong outfit with a lot of good players. They left four players in the stand who would walk into the majority of League Two sides, had two internationals in midfield, and I think we gave as good as we got. We were two fantastic saves and the width of the post away from getting something out of the game and I think most neutrals would walk away saying we deserved something.
“We were under the cosh at times which you expect, but we had chances and the stats say that we had 11 shots at goal, nine on target, and their keeper has made two or three great saves. But the bottom line says it was 3-1 so we have to come again, work hard and look forward to Tuesday night’s game.
“There are a lot of positive people about the place, a lot of positive staff. You don’t get anything for moping about. We are all disappointed about the current form and current run but we have to stay positive, which we are. People chuck bombs into the camp, which we understand will happen, asking about team spirit and are they doing this and that for the Manager, but I have been in plenty of changing rooms as a player and as a Manager to know that this group is fully committed and together in trying to turn the current form around.”
It promises to be a big night so come along and get behind the U's. Call 01865 337533 or visit www.oufctickets.co.uk to book your place
