Mullins Recalled by Rotherham

Defender heads back to the Millers

Oxford United can confirm that Rotherham United have recalled defender Johnny Mullins from his loan spell at the Kassam Stadium.

The 27-year-old centre-half made eight appearances for United, scoring twice, after arriving in October but an unprecedented injury crisis at Rotherham, increased by three new injuries in last night's game against Wycombe Wanderers, has led them to recall Mullins, along with Danny Schofield who was on loan at Accrington Stanley, with immediate effect.

United Manager Chris Wilder said:

"Johnny has done well for us but we understand the situation at Rotherham with injuries and their decision to recall both of their loan players. These things happen in football and we move on. We are fortunate to have experienced players like Michael Raynes, Harry Worley and Andy Whing who can play in that position.

"We also have Michael Duberry getting closer to a return and Liam Davis and Damian Batt hopefully playing again soon to add to our options in the back four."
