PREVIEW: Oxford United vs Luton Town

Luton Town

Oxford United welcome Luton Town to the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday evening (7:45pm kick off) for the first home meeting since 2018.

The last time that Oxford beat Luton at home was in September 2009, when goals from James Constable - following a missed penalty - and Jamie Cook earned United a 2-0 win.

The sides drew 2-2 at Kenilworth Road in October, United overturning a two-goal deficit.

OXFORD UNITED

Oxford come into the game in good form, still unbeaten in the Championship since Boxing Day and with three home wins in a row, including Saturday's 1-0 defeat of fifth-placed Blackburn Rovers.

Siriki Dembélé came off with a knock in the Blackburn game, but he should be available for selection tonight. He told oufc.co.uk: "I got elbowed in my ribs so I couldn't carry on, it was just too sore, but it settled down after a couple of days, so I'm looking forward to the game.

"The Blackburn game was my first start in a while after injury and it felt good to be playing again. Every game's a challenge and against Luton under the lights, I'm looking forward to it. We're in great form at the moment, so we'll take that into it."

Tyler Goodrham serves the last of his three-game suspension, while Elliott Moore remains unavailable through injury.

LUTON TOWN

Luton come into the game under new management, with Matt Bloomfield replacing Rob Edwards last Tuesday. The former Wycombe Wanderers manager will be looking to end Luton's dismal away record, which has seen them lose 11 consecutive matches on the road. Their last away points came in a 1-0 win at Millwall on 14 September.

Bloomfield said: "There's no point being naive to think it’s not there, it absolutely is, but I’m looking at it as a game in isolation and it’s a game I want to go and compete in and present ourselves in the right way.

"We’ll speak about it a lot, about our identity and character and courage and looking to go there and go and play. If the principles are in place we believe we can go and put on a good performance. If we can do that then you give yourselves a chance of getting a result.”

Luton will have Alfie Doughty available for the first time since the start of November, but will be without Tahith Chong and Lamine Fanne.

TICKETS AND TRAVEL

Tickets are still available for tonight's game. They can be bought online HERE, by phone on 01865 337533 or in person from the ticket office.

There are 2,000 free parking spaces at the stadium, but they do tend to fill up quickly, so please try to arrive early if you intend to park there. There are also marked parking bays along Grenoble Road to the east of the ground. Do not park on the grass verges or in the restricted areas in the nearby residential streets.

The gate behind the Planet IT North Stand will be closed before and after the game, meaning no pedestrian access between the east and west car parks via that route.
