Oxford United Women face Arsenal Women U21s in a pre-season friendly tonight at Court Place Farm.
The U’s welcome the Women’s Super League academy side to their home for a 7 PM kick-off.
Tickets cost £3 for adults and £1 for concessions. Season tickets will also be available at the gate.
There’s a real buzz around Court Place Farm at the minute, with first-day purchases of season tickets amounting to more than the entirety of last season. You don’t want to miss out.
Arsenal Women finished one point away from securing the top-flight title last season, and so manager Liam Gilbert is well aware of the test that the U21s will provide for the Yellows.
“We played Arsenal last year and I know Elliot quite well who runs their U21 team. I know that they’re a very good team who will be very well organised with some fantastic individuals.
“The girls have been superb; they’ve really knuckled down and worked hard for each other and done everything we’ve asked them to do. Hopefully, that can start transferring more in the games we have and continue to build on the performances we’re having.”
Over 200 fans turned up for the 4-0 victory over Spurs U21s a week ago. As the season fast approaches, we hope to see even more of the Yellow Army this evening.
If you can’t make it tonight, there’s also one more chance to cheer on the girls before the start of the season, when we host Hashtag United Women this Sunday, the 14th.
The U’s will kick off their season next weekend at Court Place Farm looking to get off to winning ways against Bridgwater United on Sunday the 21st of August.
